In the midst of several projects that I hope to be able to tell you about soon we’ve done a little bit more exploring in our new state. Last Sunday we headed out to Portsmouth for the day.

Welcome to Portsmouth

We tend to go places and wander about without much of a plan these days and Portsmouth was no exception. We visited some shops (I found 2 pairs of funky fun pants for $10 total!), ate some ice cream, took in the views.

And played with the camera…

North Church

There may have been some beer involved. ;-)

Beer sampler

Thanks for the photo op Portsmouth Brewery!

We ended the day along the beach with the intended purpose of me getting some photographs of knitting that also turned into an education in beach life!

Can you find the crab?!

Do you see the crab?? They’re quick!!

Can you find the crab?!

They hide under rocks!

Snails on a rock

There’s snails too! Millions of them! I thought these guys hanging out together on the rock were pretty cool.

hairy snail!

Hairy snails are even around.

Found objects on the beach

Sometimes, you even find evidence that humans have been here before.

Seagull on the beach

As we were leaving, the seagulls were looking for dinner.

Oh my gosh … that hairy snail is really a unique looking creature! He looks like he has beaded legs!

Forgot to mention —- I’m trying to resurrect the Eye Candy Friday group on Flickr. Would you be interested in posting your pictures there too? Here is the link —— http://www.flickr.com/groups/79164418@N00/

If you aren’t interested, that’s fine too. I just hate to see a good group die out.

I love Portsmouth. In fact, I used to adore the New Hampshire Seacoast until it got so built up. But still, it’s the farthest north I can bring myself to get into the Atlantic. Looks like you had a great day!

Great timing as I will be in Portsmouth for 5 weeks! Perhaps you can come back for another visit. Excellent photos BTW!

Beautiful!!! You two have the best adventures! I love the ocean, wish we lived closer. Give me another 20 years or so and maybe we’ll end up by one. :-)
