Sometimes life changes faster than you expect. Sometimes it’s a bad thing, sometimes it’s really, really good. We’re kicking off 2008 with a bang here at Zarzuela Knits– we’re moving to Northern NJ!!
That’s right friends. There was talk of a promotion for HWJF in Dec. but we didn’t really think much might come of it. Well, not too long ago the offer was made and we started seriously considering things. Then the salary increase was nailed down. Good offer. Then it was a matter of our current apartment lease not being up until the end of May. Would the company buy us out and could we find something we could afford in the new area? Friday we found *the* most amazing rental. And yesterday, we got the official word from the company– they will, in fact, be paying all our moving expenses! The lease on the new place will be signed today. And we start moving on, wait for it, SATURDAY!
Told you it was fast.
While I’m definitely sad that I will be leaving some friends behind, I’m very happy to know that there will be other friends close by in the new area (and dudes, once we get settled, there is totally going to be a spinning/knitting party at my place! I’ve got the room now and then some!). Other perks? My commute cost is cut in half and my commute time is significantly reduced. We’ll be 1 mile from the train station. We have the entire first floor and basement of a HOUSE for just slightly more then we’re paying for now. And people, this is the killer, there’s a second kitchen in the basement!! Can you say DYE STUDIO?!?! We also have access to a full yard, plenty of driveway parking, storage space… I could go on and on. Needless to say, we are *really* excited.
All of this is a long way around to saying that after the couple of blog posts I already have in the works for this week, there may be a bit of radio silence around these parts. I have no idea how long it will take to get the Internet (much less anything else) hooked up in the new place with us moving this quick, but I’ll be sure to be back asap. For now, I’ve got boxes to pack!!
