I thought I’d share a few pics of the new digs today now that things are pretty much in order at Chez Zarzuela.
First up, the livingroom. Probably my favorite space so far.
You can see that Simba likes it too. When we saw the bay window, we knew exactly where she’d be spending most of her time. Here’s another look:
That’s the view from the front door. I love the way the “entertainment center” comes together so quickly. You can see a little of the dinning area there too. The livingroom, dinning room and fiber/bassoon room are all stacked one behind the other. We laugh at how Simba tries to run from one to another but ends up getting tired half way across. It’s a big space now!
Here’s a look at the kitchen:
It’s small but it works really well. I never seem to be too far from anything when making a meal or cleaning up. We are a little too enthralled by the fact that the fridge has ice AND water on the door. Neither of us has ever experienced that one. I love the island. Although it does tend to be a place for all the crap you put down to collect. We’re working on that.
Now we get down to the important part! Here’s where the yarn wall lives now:
You can kind of see how this room runs into the eating area and kitchen and then to the livingroom. We’ve made this area into the fiber/bassoon room. HWJF has a place for all his music stuff (and mine) and there is plenty of room for the spinning wheels here too. There’s no TV but there is a comfortable chair and plenty of space. It’s fun to lay down on the floor and not touch anything.
Here’s another look:
I love this window too. There’s a lot of natural light in this place in all the right places (read: not the bedroom. I’m a vampire at night and can’t stand any light there).
That’s not all but that’s all I’ve got right now. The other rooms aren’t exactly presentable yet, but they will be very soon! We’ve just got to let the cable company come in and work their magic…

Thank you for the tour. I love the new place – it’s so cozy and looks like everything fits together perfectly. Much happiness to all of you in your new home.
Looks like home sweet home indeed! (I spent a ridiculous amount of time staring at the cat’s gym wondering if it was some exotic fibery device.)
what a great place! it looks HUGE!!!
It looks beautiful and cozy. I’m glad you are enjoying your new space.
Congratulations on your new home. It looks wonderfully welcoming and comfortable.
I love the great natural light! I also really love the little (metal?) bassoon player sculpture over your TV!
The new place looks Wonderful! Such a cute home. I love how you’ve set up your living room. It’s really lovely, and a fiber room? Swoon.
Well deserved space! That domed like doorway from living to dining is fun.
Nice set-up. I too did the same as Ina – glad I’m not the only one
Great new digs! Looking good! I immediately noticed the water & ice dispenser on the frig. I’m continually amazed by those things. We’re still stuck in the age of the ice cube tray in my house.
Congratulations! It looks so cozy. *sigh* dreams of water and ice dispenser on the fridge. You know those commercials where the woman are bulldozing their old ones and throwing them off cliffs and such….that’s me. Someday I shall graduate to the french door, ice dipensing, fridge of my kitchen dreams.
Hooray! You’re *so* unpacked already, I can’t believe it!
You’ve got so much light in all the right places! I’m not sure I believe that Simba ever leaves that window willingly. What a great perch for a kitty.
I love it that Simba is in the same place for two of the pictures. She probably thought you were nuts photographing her house like that
It looks like a really great place! I’m happy for you.
It’s looking great!
Nice dig! I love it! You should have a house warming so we can come visit and check out the yarn room!!!
Enjoying your photos. Nice spaces to relax and knit:)
It looks great. Congrats on your new digs!
Pretty! It looks so cozy. I especially loved the arched doorway into the dining room – details like that add so much character.
I love how it came together! Looks much different than it did the last time I saw those rooms
The house looks really comfy. Very happy that you’ve managed a successful move.
Very nice and roomy! I love all the natural light you get.
The new place looks great! So funny – as soon as I saw Simba in that window I knew she had her new favorite spot! And I love the funky doorway – some friends of mine used to live somewhere with one of those doorways, but that’s the only other time I’ve seen one.
I love how you use what you touch when you lay in the middle of the floor as a barometer of how big your apartment is now. *grin*
Beautiful space!
