Knitting content is on the low side here, not much to tell, so instead how about a little contest?

There’s this thing we do around here in the summer, you may have heard of it? It’s called the Summer of Socks. ;) It’s just a little summer sock knitalong (Yep, I said knitalong. Full details coming on or about May 1st! Keep your eyes here! And if you haven’t already, you might want to sign up for Ravelry and Flickr. Just sayin’!), but I think it could use a new button this year. So here’s the deal.

Make the Summer of Socks 2008 Button Contest!

Create a blog button for the Summer of Socks 2008. Pretty much anything goes, just keep it to a size of around 100 x 50 pixels and in .jpg format and it would probably be good for it to have something to do with Summer and Socks. ;)

E-mail your entry to Zarzuelaknits [at] gmail [dot] com by Friday April 25, 2008 at 5pm.

In your e-mail please include the following:

Your name
Your e-mail address
Your blog/Ravelry profile/Flickr profile URL so I can link to you if you win
Your button as an attachment

ONE entry per person please!!

The prize? Something of a sock related nature of course! Don’t worry, I’ll make it good! :)
UPDATE!!! The prize for this contest has been generously donated by WENDY! You will have your choice of any WendyKnits pattern from those available at the Loopy Ewe along with the appropriate yarn to knit it!!

See! Told ya I’d make it good. ;)

I will choose a winner who will be announced along with the full details of the along for this year on or about May 1st.

That’s it! Spread the word! Tell your friends!!

Could they be more relaxed

Simba and Stitches are all ready for the weekend. I wish you all a relaxing weekend too!! :)

Oh, no! Summer of Socks is coming up, and I still have the socks from last year’s SOS on the needles! Eeep! (In my defense, I did put them on hold to knit gift socks.) Maybe I’ll do better this year?

  5. Laura says:

I’m guessing the answer to this is going to be no, but I thought I’d ask anyway: with the advent of Ravelry, any chance that SOS might be open to those who don’t have blogs? (again, just asking…)

  6. Cookie says:

    Summer of Socks?

    Never heard of it. ;^)

  7. amy says:

Yay! I was hoping Summer of Socks would be back. Now I definitely have to get some new sock needles.

And I am very impressed to see the two critters co-existing like that. Looks like you’re past the, “Oh boy! A new toy!” stage.

  8. Ina says:

Woo-hoo! Alas, I have no button skillz, but I’m counting the days to the first of May!

  9. Debi says:

I’m so glad your “kids” are getting along so famously!

  11. Heather says:

Wait, they co-habitate without aggression? That is truly an accomplishment. Sorry I can’t help you in the button dept., I know nothing about making them!!

  12. Nancy says:

I’m happy to have SOS be my first button design opportunity. And I’m looking forward to participating this year.

Simba and Stitches are the CUTEST! I had lots of fun meeting them yesterday.

  13. Vera says:

    Wow. Glad SOS is back.

  14. Kim says:

I’m too technologically backward to design a button. Oh well. I’m looking forward to the Summer of Socks 2008! Simba & Stitches look like they are getting used to each other. How nice!

  15. Terri says:

OMG do you play bassoon? I played in high school. I play a lot of instruments and bassoon is a favorite.
