What you see before you occurred over the course of two days, several hours, a few minor injuries and a whole lot of parsley. Bunny wrangling is no easy task for the uninitiated and we are certainly the uninitiated!! For those who might not know, German angoras do not shed their fiber. It needs to be cut off using scissors. In our case, HWJF did most of the holding and I did most of the cutting. It wasn’t easy, but we finally got it all off.
The fiber yield? About 2 oz. of spinnable stuff and about 1 oz. of good felting wool. And soft as soft can be. And it might have been more if I didn’t suck so much. But that’s ok. I’ll have plenty more opportunity to practice.
Simba is just happy she isn’t a bunny.
