Weekly Link Contest Winner #1
I’m very happy to announce that the Weekly Link Contest winner for week number 1 is…
Megan sent in a link to Toes & Heels (and more…). Here’s what Megan wrote about her link:
“It’s a great compilation of links on everything you need to know about knitting socks. From casting on to binding off, to toe up toes and top down heel. Everything all in one place. I’ve found it very useful and think it would come in handy to those who are new at knitting socks or those on the quest for the perfect heel or toe.”
I would absolutely agree with Megan’s assessment of this site. Those of you who said in your introductions that you were interested in trying new toes and heels this summer will find this link very handy. It lists just about every technique out there, and is well organized and easy to navigate. If you are new to sock knitting, you’ll find lots of information here on all the possibilities that await you as well as a tutorial for a basic sock pattern on double pointed needles.
Two very small (and I mean very small!) criticisms of the site: 1. Some of the text runs into the decorative margin which makes it a bit difficult to read and 2. There are a couple of links that you can only access if you belong to the Socknitters Yahoo Group.
Overall, this is an excellent compilation of online sock knitting resources and a very timely link for this point in our along.
Thanks to all of you who submitted links this week! It was a tough decision! I hope even more of you will submit an entry for next week’s contest.

Congratulations, Megan!
On another note, none of the text on that site ran into the border on my end. Maybe it depends on the browser you use?

That is very cool! Now only one question - can I resubmit the same link I submitted last week?

That is a great site. I just saw it for the first time yesterday. Congratulations, Megan.
The text is fine on my PC, also. I may need to join that Yahoo group, though.
