Most Socks Contest Update #1

Happy Friday everyone! I’m sure you’re are anxious to find out just how many pairs of socks have already been entered in this contest. The e-mails have been coming in at a steady pace. But there’s good news and bad news in this update. Here’s what we have so far (as of 8pm Thursday 7/19) in no particular order:

Knitting Division

Cookie - 9

Jeannie
- 11

Karin - 1

Kairi - 1

Karen - 1

Not That Kat - 2

Obsidian Knitter - 4

Malin - 2

Amanda - 1

Megan - 1

Pam - 5

Susanna - 1

Tina - 3

Tekopp - 1

Crochet Division

Zuleika - 5

WOW!!! You guys have already submitted 48 pairs in the first month! That’s amazing! Add to that the finished pairs we’re seeing in the flickr group that haven’t been entered and that is a lot of happy feet! Keep up the great work!

Now unfortunately, here’s the bad news. Neither of these contests have enough entries to run yet! :( Remember, way back when I first announced the along when I said that each contest must have at least 15 people signed up in order to run? Those people need to enter the contests too! I know there are more of you out there because I do hear more than crickets (or is that just NYC traffic ringing in my ears?!), so please send your contest entries in. I’d hate for all those lovely prizes to go to waste. C’mon everyone! You never know what could happen in two more months! Who knows, there might even be a little extra something for whomever ends up being the 15th person to enter in each division. ;) And commenting to cheer on your fellow along-ers is also highly encouraged. You just never know what could happen here! ;)

I should have two socks entered. I sent picture to flickr group and emailed my second pair Wednesday. Not that I anticipate overtaking the front runners at this rate.

I’m trying so hard to finish at least one pair! Do you get any points for a partially knit pair??

I have 2 pairs and 1 1/2 singles done. I can’t figure out how to upload pictures to the flickr group, although I did manage to get one into my account. Can anyone help? I would love to get my 2 singles mated and all the entries entered this weekend.

Lisa J, once you have uploaded your photos to your flickr account and filled out the info part so we all know what pattern you used, etc click on Submit. That will keep the info that you’ve added.

Then click on the image of the photo you want to add to the group. You will be taken to a screen that shows that photo and your info with a tool bar type of thingy across the top. Look at the options on that bar. One of them is Send To Group. Click on that and you will get a little pop thingy that will list all the different groups you belong to. Click on Summer of Socks. The little box will ask you again if that’s what you really want. Tell it “yes” and it will take that photo over to the Summer of Socks photo gallery for you.

Did that make sense? I hope so. Jessica also posted a tutorial, where I learned how to do it, in an earlier blog post here… somewhere…

    Good luck!

Thank you both! I appreciate the help. I will get the socks up there this weekend!
